- Training and preparation are very important
- Know when to use the word ‘no’
- Take challenges when you feel ready Make sure your information is up-to-date and accurate
- Take along information about the organisation you’re representing, e.g. leaflets, magazines, newsletters
- Reflect and respect the values of the group you represent
- Make it clear when you’re making your own views known
- Remember that your situation and life will change over time so you’re input needs to change too
- There can be learning in what hasn’t worked
